Multiple windows on a Mac make me feel like I’m staring at an abyss of white-space and text. There generally is no visual hierarchy.
I ran across a tool called “Isolator” on this blog:

Just what I need! This will allow you to isolate on the window you are working with and blur or overlay a color on the background windows.
You can find it here:

White noise is a powerful thing!
I’ve used the following tool to help with concentration in a noisy office environment.

Adjust the volume by sliding the circle.
Won’t completely cancel background noise, but in my experience it does help.

The guys powering my twitter feed are awesome. They come up with a lot of great and useful tools.
I just discovered a cool tool from one of the people I subscribe to on Twitter.
Here’s the description from their site:
The Typetester is an online application for comparison of the fonts for the screen. Its primary role is to make web designer’s life easier. As the new fonts are bundled into operating systems, the list of the common fonts will be updated.

For those of you who use a mac here is a simple free solution to organize your dock.
If you’re anything like me you have a zillion icons down there and you’ve arbitrarily added them. I tried to sort them in such a way that it made sense that the ftp icon was next to the terminal icon (I do web development).
Needless to say I sometimes clicked the wrong icon, which started up the wrong program, which bogged down productivity…
I ran across these dock dividers and have experienced a performance increase.
Enough words. Check out the link:

If you’re mouse has a scroll wheel that you can click you have access to a nice Firefox feature! Place your cursor over a link and click the scroll wheel. Firefox will open the website in a background tab.
If you’re like me you read one article and then open others for reading later.
This method streamlines the process!

It would seem that somehow Doc Brown got a hold of my brain and installed a “Mr. Fusion” and the ability to not only go back in time, but forward into time. I have to tell you that being able to fly, or hey just give me the souped up DeLorean would be fantastic. I can do without the time travel abilities. Seriously, and here’s why…

This one threw me for a loop.
Happiness… an idol?
I didn’t have to look far within myself to see how much energy I put into trying to be happy. It almost makes me wonder how long I’ve been undertaking such a pointless endeavor.
Ok now here we go. Happiness… a pointless endeavor?
Strong, bad tasting wording I know, but please keep reading!
